Grandview Forest Hill, Huntsville

3.5km In & Back (7km return)

  • Park in the lot on Grandview Forest Hill

  • There is a section of trail that heads east from the parking lot, but the majority of the trail starts about 100m down the road from the parking lot and heads west toward Huntsville and eventually traversing through an urban area

  • The paved main trail is well-used all year, and rougher side trails make an appearance in the woods when the snow melts

  • The signs along the main trail offer lots of helpful info about the flora and fauna that make their home here

  • The bird chit-chat in the forested section makes you forget you’re so close to highway 60. The majority of the trail runs beside the highway into town, which may not feel as nature-y, but is so great for kids who need a solid stretch of safe pavement to practice their biking skills.

  • Obviously you are going to tell your kids that fairies live on Fairy Vista Trail, but the real reason for the name is the proximity of the trail to Fairy Lake
