Pipsissawa Trail & The Turnbull Tract

4210 Fawcett Road, Washago

6km Loop

  • The riverside walk is 1 km (2km return), the yellow/green Pipsissawa Loop is 2km and the pink Turnbull Tract is 2km (see trail map below). Trail markers are posted.

  • Park at the sign beside the Hwy 11 bridge on Fawcett Road, then just walk the road beside the river to the forest. There is a gate and some signs, but they are all telling you not to go on the CN tracks further up the road - trail users are good to go

  • The Agnew Nature Reserve is also along this loop. There are a LOT of turtle nests in the fenced off areas of sand near the ponds - please obey the signage and appreciate this important conservation effort without disturbing it.

  • This is also a hotspot for Trumpeter Swans, who frequent this section of the Trent-Severn Waterway each year.
